Proud Poppa
The mission of Proud Poppa is to celebrate, elevate and replicate fatherhood success principles in the Black community. We believe that the cavalry is not coming to save the day in our communities and that Black men and mentors must creatively lead and leverage their social capital and personal assets to create community collaborations for healing, empowerment and social entrepreneurship. The publication and distribution of Proud Poppa in New York and other Seed Cities is a prime example of how we can become masters of our own media and contribute to positive change in our own lives, our families and our communities.

Middle Passage Press
The mission of Middle Passage Press is to provide middle and high school boys with an opportunity to become masters of their own media through the publishing and distribution of a pull-out insert in every edition of Proud Poppa. As a result of their involvement in the Middle Passage Press production and distribution boys and young men will develop their skills and talent as journalists, artists and graphic designers, marketing and sales reps, and community organizers.
